I’m probably going to get a lot of harsh, harsh criticism from transit fans who apparently are allergic to change. For that matter, I don’t really care— understand, it’s just a hobby, they’re just trains, and life moves on. I mean, unless you have a VALID reason to hold on to a certain line, there’s no reason to moan. If you do think you know what you’re talking about, why don’t you get off your lazy bottom and start a petition?

Speaking of petitions, I ask all of you to PLEASE sign my petition to save the QBx1 bus line. The MTA is planning to split it into two separate routes, one a local from Pelham Bay to Co-Op City, and another a limited from Co-Op City to Flushing. To prevent confusion and improve the route, my petition proposes a re-design of the route, but keeping its designation.

Here it is… my official “goodbye” art to the W and V trains (left and right, respectively). It’s a little bit sad, considering I have to rewrite my entire musical.

But for fans of my art, here’s what will be done:

1. The M’s gender will change. Whether or not M retains the same appearance as V is still up in the air.

2. Because of the W train’s disappearance, the songs for the Broadway line will have to be rewritten.

My musical IS viewable online, but I’d really like to try and get the new one up.

And I just discovered my art is NO LONGER viewable online except for here. Wow. That’s a disappointment.

I actually got a request to do this, a friend suggested it. It’s my little sad goodbye to the V train that will be cut June 27th. Miss you, V-Doll! You were always one of my favorites to draw with your stylish outfit and clean haircut.

I went on a trip to Flushing, Queens, recently, and came out with a renewed understanding and appreciation for Chinese and other Asian cultures. So I figured, why not illustrate a Western-looking bus with the dress of a beautiful princess of the Far East?

The random kanji in the painting include strength (or nine), sun, and woman.

Anyway, this is the first public art for the Bx26 character… She doesn’t have facial makeup yet or her proper shoes.

some choose to listen to the gossip.

after a violation, they refuse

fleshy pink against brown
like someone split a cherry cordial.

Some demand perfection
while bathing in apprehension
because it makes them feel better.

Some don’t let him breathe
when he’s pained enough to bleed

So, I’m officially a member of TTMG, which means that I am considered among the highest ranks of transit photographers around! I really never thought this would happen to me. I guess practice makes perfect!

But I’m also able to put art up on that site, which I am about to do.
